The New Year is nearly upon us, and it’s the perfect time to reflect on the past twelve months, and to make some changes in your financial habits. Here are some ideas on how you can make 2019 a better year:
1. Start Saving for Christmas
Christmas 2018 may be over and done with, but it’s never too early to prepare for next Christmas. Putting aside a few pounds a month throughout the year can really take the pressure off when the holiday season comes back around.
2. Compare Bills
It’s always a good idea to check you’re not overpaying on your bills. Energy bills in particular are worth checking, because energy providers don’t often reward loyalty, so there’s no reason to stick with an expensive tariff. You should also check your phone and internet bills, as well as any insurance policies.
Consider which extras you really need - internet and TV bundles may seem like a good deal but often leave you paying for TV channels you don’t use.
3. See Your Progress
Take a step back and look at how far you’ve come this year. Appreciate the progress you’ve made towards clearing your debt, and think about setting goals for next year – our friendly advisors can help you with this.
